Thank you! Over time I've come to think that the metaphor we should use when thinking about the electric system is how we build bridges and buildings to sway and not snap in the wind, based on willow trees. Thus strength=good, but rigid=bad.

This is a really great piece, thank you! But why not conclude by advocating for the removal of the regulatory oversight though instead of merely improving it?

Thanks Glen! Given that my audience was a large group of mostly engineers working in firms and national labs to increase the interoperability and digitization in the electric system, I took a more moderate stance. Better to be thought provoking than to be radical and have them reject my remarks.
